Parking Nightmare To End?

Residents who live in close proximity to DRI are more than aware of the parking problems that occur on a regular basis in and around West Grove, Armthorpe Lane, The Grove, Sunningdale Road and Thorne Road.

Pressure from your Lib Dem Councillors, has resulted in DMBC agreeing to undertake a Consultation Exercise with local residents. This is only the beginning of the plan to resolve parking issues on all streets around DRI.

"As Councillors we want your opinion on the possible introduction of Pay and Display Bays on Armthorpe Lane, Armthorpe Road and Thorne Road. We also want your views on the suggestion to prohibit vehicles on various streets within the vicinity of DRI between 10am and 3pm, Monday to Friday.

Get in touch.…..Your opinion counts

The SAGA Continues

Sadly the saga for residents, staff and visitors continues as they suffer from the lack of available parking space in and around DRI.

Council Officers continue to meet with bosses from Doncaster and Bassetlaw NHS Foundation Trust on a monthly basis. Currently the most pressing issue is linked to the cost of providing access onto the ear-marked site. Added to this is the financial outley needed to develop the land in question.

"We would all have liked to see the "Park And Ride Scheme" up and running by now. On the other hand I have the feeling that success is just around the corner. We are at a crucial stage in the negotiations and will keep you informed accordingly," said Cllr Cliff Hampson.

Intoxicating Liquor

Residents have for a number of years complained about the sale of alcohol to those who are underage at the Tesco's Store on Adlard Road. Your Lib Dem Councillors can confirm that test purchases of alcohol have been carried out at the above premises on 3  occasions - once in 2006 and twice this year.
Councillor Kevin Abell can also confirm that on at least one occasion this year alcohol has been sold to a person who was underage. He has therefore asked for Tesco's to be included in the next test purchase exercise.
