Safer Routes
to schools

Following complaints from the Sidney Rd. Neighbourhood Watch and Safety Wardens, your local Liberal Democrat Councillors made representations to DMBC for parking restrictions to be put in place around Sydney Rd. and Plover Schools. These have been very successful and popular with the local community.

Councillor Cliff Hampson says, "This just shows how working with the community and the Council Officers, can make a positive contribution to road safety around our schools."

Sandall Beat Wood

Over the last few months improvements have been underway in Sandall Beat Wood. This includes improved paths and signs, a larger visitors centre, children's play area and tree planting. To come will be a new bridge over the railway lines, that will allow visitors from Armthorpe to access the site on foot.
Once the Bloodstock Sales is completed the road to the complex will be resurfaced at their cost.  The rest of "the straight mile" will be resurfaced up to the car park.
This project has been paid for by the Governments Liveability Fund with no contribution from the Council Tax.
Cllr. Cliff Hampson says, "This is a great improvement for all of the community who use the area for sport and leisure and I will press for more to come."

New Start for SURE START
